Bilfinger has been awarded a major Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) contract by Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) for the New North Oil Pier at the Mina Al Ahmadi (MAA) Refinery. The project marks a key step in modernizing Kuwait’s energy infrastructure.
With existing oil piers at Mina Al Ahmadi expected to reach the end of their operational lifespan by 2030, KNPC is moving ahead with plans to safeguard the future of petroleum exports. The New North Oil Pier and upgraded onshore facilities will ensure uninterrupted exports well beyond 2030, reinforcing Kuwait’s role in the global energy market.
“We are honored to support KNPC in delivering this critical element of Kuwait’s national energy logistics,” said Christian Rugland, President Engineering & Maintenance International at Bilfinger. “Our FEED solutions will enhance operational efficiency, integrate sustainable practices, and support Kuwait’s long-term energy goals.”
Bilfinger Engineering & Maintenance Middle East will carry out FEED services including site surveys, feasibility studies, detailed engineering, cost estimation, and risk assessments. The aim is to optimize operations, minimize resource use, and meet the highest environmental standards.
