McDermott, through its subsidiary McDermott Nederland B.V., has been selected by Aramco as one of 11 contractors awarded a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Long-Term Agreement (LTA) to support the delivery of large-scale energy, downstream, petrochemical, and low-carbon projects across Saudi Arabia.
The multi-year agreement strengthens McDermott’s position as a key engineering and project management partner within Aramco’s strategic investment portfolio. Under the framework, McDermott will provide engineering, front-end development (pre-FEED and FEED), and project management consultancy services, leveraging its global delivery network and technical expertise.
The agreement also formalizes a strategic partnership between McDermott and Solutions Leaders Fayez Engineering (SLFE), a leading Saudi engineering company and Aramco-approved General Engineering Services Plus (GES+) contractor. The partnership combines McDermott’s extensive experience in delivering complex, capital-intensive projects with SLFE’s strong local presence and in-country execution capabilities.
Michael McKelvy, McDermott’s Chief Executive Officer and Chair of the Board, highlighted the shared commitment to localization, knowledge transfer, and sustainable capability development within the Kingdom. Rob Shaul, Senior Vice President of Low Carbon Solutions at McDermott, noted that the agreement reflects Aramco’s confidence in the company’s proven project execution capabilities and long-standing track record in the region.
Through the McDermott-SLFE collaboration, projects will be executed using an integrated in-country and global delivery model, supporting efficient project execution while aligning with Aramco’s localization and In-Kingdom Total Value Add (IKTVA) objectives. SLFE will provide local engineering and client support, while McDermott will lead overall project execution, governance, and technical delivery through its global engineering centers.
The award further reinforces McDermott’s long-standing relationship with Aramco and strengthens its role in supporting Saudi Arabia’s energy infrastructure development and long-term energy transition ambitions.
