KBR and Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical Company Petro Rabigh have signed a strategic 10 year general maintenance services agreement, with an option for a further two year extension. The contract covers the Polymer I and Polymer II plants located in Rabigh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Under the contract, KBR through its local joint venture KBR Al Yusr will provide a fully integrated, digitally enabled maintenance program. The services will include preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities. The scope will be strengthened by KBR’s AI and machine learning powered digital solutions and reliability frameworks, aimed at enhancing asset performance, increasing plant availability, improving safety standards, and optimizing operating costs in a sustainable manner.
This partnership marks an important milestone in Petro Rabigh’s transformation journey, representing its first major outsourcing of maintenance services. The initiative is designed to support a structured change management process while maintaining strong emphasis on safety, risk control, and long term operational excellence. Together, both organizations are focused on achieving top tier plant performance and embedding continuous improvement across maintenance and reliability operations.
Othman Al Ghamdi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Petro Rabigh, described the agreement as a key step in advancing the company’s transformation strategy. He emphasized that safety, reliability, effective risk management, and cost efficiency remain top priorities, adding that KBR’s global experience, strong local presence, and digitally driven approach provide confidence in enhancing plant performance and supporting long term objectives.
