McDermott has secured a mega engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract from ADNOC for Package 4 of the Umm Shaif Integrated Gas Cap and Surface Pressure Boosting (SPB) Project. Forming a key part of the Umm Shaif Long Term Development Plan (LTDP), the development aims to enhance gas recovery and increase production from the field.
As part of the award, the consortium comprising McDermott and Qingdao McDermott Wuchuan (QMW) will execute the complete EPCI scope for a new surface pressure boosting facility. The work includes the construction and installation of a jacket and topside, together with related brownfield modifications. Once completed, the topside will be among the heaviest offshore modules ever installed in the Middle East.

Engineering and project management will be undertaken from McDermott’s offices in the United Arab Emirates, while fabrication will take place at QMW, its joint venture fabrication facility in Qingdao, China.
