McDermott has secured a subsea EPCIC contract from PETRONAS Carigali Brunei Ltd. for a major natural gas development project offshore Brunei Darussalam. The project is considered one of the country’s most significant conventional gas developments.
This contract follows McDermott’s successful delivery of front-end engineering design (FEED), engineering optimization, and readiness planning for the same project.
Under the scope of work, McDermott will execute the full EPCIC package for a subsea production system and its associated infrastructure, including umbilicals, risers, and flowlines that will link six wells to a floating production unit for natural gas extraction. The company will also provide EPCIC services for a gas export pipeline that will supply feedstock to Brunei’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector.

Project management will be led from McDermott’s engineering center of excellence in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, supported by teams across multiple McDermott offices and project locations.
The gas field is expected to provide a long-term supply of natural gas, supporting both Brunei’s domestic energy requirements and its LNG export commitments.
