Saipem has secured a new offshore contract from Turkish Petroleum OTC for additional works related to the extension of the third phase of the Sakarya gas field development, located in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea. The contract is valued at approximately USD 425 million.
Under the contract, Saipem will execute the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) of three additional subsea pipelines, spanning a total length of around 153 km, along with the associated subsea structures. These pipelines will link the recently discovered natural gas reserves at the Goktepe field to the existing Sakarya Phase 3 facilities. The Goktepe field is situated at a water depth of approximately 2,200 meters, about 80 km from the Sakarya Phase 3 field. The new infrastructure will support increased production from the development.
The contract, which has an expected duration of approximately two and a half years, will be executed in continuity with the agreement signed in September 2025 for the third phase of the Sakarya field development. Offshore installation activities are scheduled to be carried out using Saipem’s Castorone pipelay vessel during the second half of 2027.
This latest contract award further strengthens Saipem’s position as a key partner for major offshore developments in Türkiye and supports the long-term, sustainable growth of the country’s energy sector.
