SLB has announced that Kuwait Oil Company has awarded the company a $1.5 billion, five-year integrated contract for the Mutriba field in Kuwait, covering design, development, and production management.
The scope builds on SLB’s extensive subsurface knowledge of the Mutriba field to support effective planning and execution in deeper and more technically complex reservoir environments. The contract includes the development of high-pressure, high-temperature reservoirs with sour conditions, marking an expanded role for SLB as activities at the field advance.
“This award underscores the strength of our long-standing partnership with Kuwait Oil Company and the confidence developed through decades of collaboration,” said Steve Gassen, Executive Vice President, Geographies, SLB. “As the Mutriba field enters its next phase, we are assuming end-to-end responsibility to help ensure safe and reliable delivery in challenging reservoir conditions.”
The project aims to accelerate the development of technically demanding and remote resources while maintaining a strong focus on capital efficiency and environmental stewardship. It reflects the industry’s growing adoption of integrated delivery models designed to reduce execution risk as fields progress into more complex stages of development.
