Technip Energies together with its consortium partners JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries, has secured a major contract from Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV), a joint venture participated in by Eni, to advance the Coral Norte Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project offshore Mozambique.
The project represents Mozambique’s second floating LNG facility and marks another important milestone in the country’s offshore gas development. This award builds on the previously announced early works contract and reinforces the continued progression of Technip Energies’ responsibilities on Coral Norte.
Leveraging early works execution and a replica design approach, the project is moving forward at pace, with the hull successfully launched on January 16, 2026, in Geoje, South Korea. Coral Norte is designed as an enhanced replica of the Coral Sul FLNG, utilizing the same gas composition and field location. By applying proven engineering solutions and integrating lessons learned, the project aims to deliver reduced execution risk, improved efficiency, increased LNG capacity, and optimized overall performance.
Loïc Chapuis, President Project Delivery & Services at Technip Energies, highlighted that the award reflects the company’s proven engineering expertise and disciplined project execution capabilities. Building on the success of Coral Sul, the consortium’s continued collaboration with Eni and its Area 4 partners further reinforces Technip Energies’ leadership in delivering advanced LNG solutions that contribute to long-term energy supply and security in Mozambique and beyond.
