Wood has been awarded a two-year contract extension valued at up to US$65 million (AUD$100 million) by Woodside to continue providing brownfield engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services across offshore assets at the North West Shelf (NWS) Project in Western Australia.
The NWS Project is one of the world’s largest and most established liquefied natural gas (LNG) developments, having delivered safe, reliable, and affordable energy to Western Australia and international markets for several decades.
Through this extension, Wood will undertake asset modification works aimed at enhancing production capacity, operational reliability, and long-term asset integrity across key offshore facilities, including the North Rankin Complex, the Goodwyn A platform, and the Okha FPSO.
John Mtanios, President of Asia Pacific Operations at Wood, commented: “This extension highlights the strength of our 35-year partnership with Woodside and the confidence built through consistent delivery and a shared commitment to excellence. Since first securing this contract in 2013, our teams have developed in-depth knowledge of each asset and Woodside’s operational priorities. This understanding allows us to move beyond safe and reliable execution to identify smarter solutions that improve productivity, reduce costs, and optimise overall performance.
“Looking ahead, we are proud to contribute to the long-term sustainability of these assets, supporting Australia’s energy security and LNG export growth for many years to come.”
The contract will be executed by a dedicated team of 140 Wood employees based in Perth, Western Australia, with additional support from the company’s global engineering network.
