Wood has secured a series of decarbonisation contracts worth $100 million to deliver flare gas reduction and carbon efficiency solutions across Iraq’s largest oil fields.
Under these contracts, Wood will provide brownfield engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and modification services to improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact—supporting Iraq’s target to cut gas flaring by 78% by the end of 2025.
With a longstanding presence in Iraq, Wood has led the country’s largest flare gas reduction initiative and continues to partner with major operators on key decarbonisation efforts.
Ellis Renforth, President of Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, stated:
“We are working in partnership with our clients to achieve Iraq’s energy ambitions and deliver a sustainable energy future. Wood Iraq has deep knowledge of our clients’ infrastructure, operations, and goals, enabling improved efficiency and reduced flaring while maintaining critical production.”
The reimbursable contracts will be executed by Wood teams in Iraq and the UAE, with 60 new hires planned to support project delivery.
