Wood has been awarded a major contract by Thai Oil Public Company Limited (Thaioil) to provide engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services for Thaioil’s Clean Fuel Project (CFP).
The CFP will involve the expansion and upgrade of Thaioil’s Sriracha refinery to boost crude refining capacity, produce more environmentally friendly finished products, and enhance flexibility to process a variety of crude types. This initiative forms the cornerstone of Thaioil’s long-term strategy to deliver greener fuels while strengthening Thailand’s energy security.
Nick Shorten, Executive President of Projects at Wood, said: “This project is vital for ensuring energy security in the Kingdom of Thailand. Wood’s team previously delivered the front-end engineering design (FEED) in 2017, and our familiarity with the refinery, combined with our brownfield execution expertise, will be key to delivering the EPCM phase efficiently and effectively.
“Winning this contract reflects the strength of Wood’s 43-year relationship with Thaioil and the trust we have built through our local expertise and track record in successful EPCM project delivery. The contract is scheduled over the next three years and will involve up to 480 Wood employees at peak, combining experienced professionals from its local operations with subject matter experts, as well as construction management and commissioning specialists from Wood’s global network.
