Worley has secured a contract from Samsung C&T Corporation to provide detailed engineering services for the QatarEnergy LNG Carbon Dioxide Sequestration Project in Qatar, a major initiative focused on the capture and permanent storage of CO₂ emissions from LNG operations.

The project is designed to enable the long-term sequestration of approximately 4.3 million metric tonnes of CO₂ annually, representing an important step in Qatar’s strategy to advance sustainable and lower-carbon energy development.

As part of the agreement, Worley will deliver detailed engineering services to Samsung C&T, with execution led from its Qatar office and supported by the company’s Global Integrated Delivery center in India, along with specialist input from teams in Australia.

The award builds on Worley’s earlier completion of the front-end engineering and design phase, further strengthening its position as a key partner in carbon capture, utilization and storage projects and the broader energy transition.

Once in operation, the LNG sequestration facility is expected to make a substantial contribution to lowering greenhouse-gas emissions and supporting a more sustainable energy landscape in the region.
