Worley Alaska has been selected by NOVAGOLD Resources Inc. and Donlin Gold Holdings, wholly owned by Paulson Advisers LLC and its affiliates, to deliver a Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the Donlin Gold natural gas pipeline in Alaska.

The Donlin Gold project, located in the Kuskokwim Gold Belt, is expected to become one of the largest gold mines in the United States. The project is currently advancing through its BFS phase, targeted for completion in 2027, which will guide potential future development in this remote region.

Worley Alaska’s scope includes detailed engineering for a 508 km (316-mile) buried natural gas pipeline that will transport fuel from Cook Inlet to the project’s on-site power plant. The work covers pipeline routing, gas handling and control systems, and integration across civil, environmental, and permitting disciplines. Given the challenging terrain, the project will require specialized Arctic and sub-Arctic design expertise, along with robust constructability and execution planning.

This pipeline is a critical infrastructure component, aimed at ensuring a reliable energy supply for the Donlin Gold project’s operations.

Worley has been supporting projects in Alaska for over 60 years, delivering engineering, procurement, construction, and operations services across the region.

Mark Trueman, Group President, Major Projects and Programs at Worley, stated: “We’re pleased to support NOVAGOLD and Donlin Gold Holdings on this important project. Our team brings a strong focus on safety, technical excellence, and practical delivery, backed by decades of experience in Alaska. Worley combines regional knowledge with global expertise to execute complex projects in remote and challenging environments.”
