Saipem has secured a new onshore contract for the Uthmaniyah Gas Compression Plant project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The contract, valued at approximately €900 million for Saipem’s share, was awarded to Saipem Nasser Saeed Al Hajri Contracting Company (SNSH), a joint venture between Saipem and Nasser Saeed Al Hajri and Partners Company for Contracting (NSH). The project is expected to be executed over a period of approximately 42 months.

The scope includes engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a new gas compression facility serving the Uthmaniyah non associated gas field. The development is expected to enhance field performance, extend production life, and support the Kingdom’s increasing energy requirements.

Notably, the Uthmaniyah Gas Compression Plant is the first EPC project awarded under Saudi Arabia’s National EPC Champion Program, an initiative aimed at developing local EPC capabilities while maximizing the use of national expertise and resources. SNSH was established to combine Saipem’s global engineering and project management experience with NSH’s strong local construction capabilities.

The award further reinforces Saipem’s position in Saudi Arabia and highlights its continued commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure development while fostering local content and workforce participation.
