Saipem has secured a new offshore contract from Azule Energy Exploration (Angola) Limited and Azule Energy Angola B.V., subsidiaries of the Eni and bp joint venture, to provide transportation and installation (T&I) services for the Greater PAJ project, located around 200 kilometres offshore Angola. The contract is valued at approximately USD 1 billion and is expected to run for about 40 months.

The Greater PAJ project is one of the largest ultra-deepwater developments currently underway in sub-Saharan Africa.

Under the contract, Saipem will be responsible for the engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of nearly 180 kilometres of rigid pipelines and subsea infrastructure in water depths of up to 2,000 metres. The scope also includes the transportation and installation of 38 kilometres of flexible flowlines and jumpers, along with 54 kilometres of umbilicals.

Fabrication activities will be carried out at Saipem’s Ambriz yard in Angola, with participation from local companies and workforce. Offshore installation activities are expected to be executed using Saipem’s FDS and Castorone construction vessels.

The award further strengthens the long-standing collaboration between Saipem and Azule Energy, reinforcing Saipem’s position as a key partner for complex offshore developments in Angola through its engineering capabilities, advanced fleet, and established local presence.
