JGC Corporation and Fluor Corporation, through their joint venture JFJV, have been awarded a Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) for the proposed Phase 2 expansion of the LNG Canada export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia.

The award builds on JFJV’s successful delivery of Phase 1, where the partnership provided engineering, procurement, fabrication management, construction, and commissioning services. In 2025, the joint venture completed and delivered the project’s first two LNG trains.

Under the LNTP phase, JFJV will work alongside LNG Canada to advance project planning and execution activities ahead of a potential final investment decision for Phase 2. The expansion would double the facility’s LNG production capacity, further strengthening Canada’s position as a key supplier of lower-carbon natural gas to global markets.

Located on Canada’s west coast, LNG Canada benefits from access to abundant natural gas resources and an ice-free harbor. The project is backed by a consortium comprising Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and KOGAS.
