Galfar bags OMR 40 million contract from OQ

Galfar Engineering and Contracting has signed contract worth OMR 40 million with OQ Group for an EPC project, the company said in a statement on Sunday.

“The estimated value of this contract which is signed 9/9/2021 is approximately OMR 40 million with execution time of around 42 months including maintenance period,” Dr. Hamoud Rashid Al Tobi, the Chief Executive Officer of Galfar said.

“It is expected that this contract will contribute to the Company revenues and further strengthen our presence in Oil and Gas and high capacity pipeline projects,” Al Tobi said.

“We take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the OQ Group for the confidence vested on Galfar through award of this critical contract,” the statement added.

Wood has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver specialist engineering solutions at a major oilfield in Iraq

Wood, the global consulting and engineering company, has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver specialist engineering solutions at a major oilfield in Iraq.

With a focus on operational excellence to increase production efficiency and drive down costs, Wood will improve day-to-day operations of the oilfield’s producing assets and supporting facilities, while continuing to invest in local talent development programmes and exploring opportunities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Craig Shanaghey, Wood’s President of Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said: “We are delighted to strengthen and grow our foothold in Iraq with the award of this new contract.

“Building on our already strong delivery performance locally, we will be laser-focused on continuing to develop our in-country teams and ensuring the continued high performance of the oilfield.

The contract will be delivered by Wood’s in-country teams in Basra, Iraq, supported by the company’s engineering office in Dubai.

Petrofac Awarded Three Engineering Contracts In Middle East and North Africa.

Petrofac is delighted to have secured three engineering contracts to support clients of Oil and Gas in core markets of the Middle East and North Africa. This award demonstrates Petrofac’s strength of engineering capability and track record in North Africa.All three contracts will be executed by Petrofac’s Engineering & Consultancy Services (ECS) business in Woking, UK.

In Oman, Petrofac will support Flare to Value LLC (F2V) by generating a basic engineering package to offset gas that is currently exploding at three onshore locations. Petrofac’s focus will be on the fast-track execution of constructible, operable and standardized solutions that maximize modularisation and minimize intermission to ongoing operations.
Petrofac will provide FEED and conceptualization studies to clients in Oman and Libya following the security of a clutch of new contracts.

In another deal, Petrofac has been rewarded a contract by Waha Oil Company (WOC) to produce a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for its Gialo III field, onshore Libya. The work will be completed over a schedule of 41 months and will support WOC’s planned program of development over the coming next years.

Petrofac has also been win a four-month conceptual and pre-FEED study for the rehabilitation of the Dahra Oil Field in Concession 32, onshore Libya. The scope covers upstream facilities including well sites, flowlines, process plant and export pipelines. The ultimate client is Waha and Petrofac has formed a Project Joint Venture with Taknia to execute the task.
