L&T Construction Wins Orders for its Power Transmission & Distribution Business

The Power Transmission & Distribution Business of Larsen & Toubro has secured new orders in the Middle East.

In the United Arab Emirates, the Business has received an order to establish a 220kV Gas Insulated Substation and associated Transmission Lines from a well-established service provider to the energy industry.

Further, orders to establish 2 New 132kV Substations have been received from a public services infrastructure company in Dubai and another order to build a 220kV overhead Transmission Line has been secured in the region.

In Kuwait, an order has been secured for turnkey construction of 4 new 132kV Substations in the Al Sabah Medical District. The scope also includes associated Control, Protection, Automation and Communication systems and related Civil & Mechanical works.

Additional orders have been received in the ongoing jobs in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

L&T Construction Wins EPC Orders for its Power Transmission & Distribution Business

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Construction has recently secured EPC orders in India and overseas.

Under the umbrella of the Reforms-based Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), distribution utilities in the country have taken up various modernization measures to improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability. To significantly reduce the Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses at pan-India level is an important objective of the scheme towards which, the discoms undertake several distribution infrastructure improvements such as segregating feeders, reconductoring, cabling, augmenting line networks and elements, geo-tagging of assets, etc.

The Business has secured orders to develop distribution infrastructure in two discom circles of western Rajasthan.

The Business has also bagged a power supply system order for the second phase of Chennai Metro. The scope includes Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Receiving Substations (RSS), Auxiliary Substations (ASS) and SCADA system for the northern sections of Corridors 3 & 5. The 110kV Gas Insulated Receiving Substations get incoming supply from the Grid and feed power supply to the traction and station requirements. 33kV Auxiliary Substations interconnected through 33kV cable system feed the auxiliary loads of metro stations such as lighting, ventilation, lifts etc. Related Control & Protection systems are also included in the scope.

Further, In the overseas market, the PT&D Business has won an order to supply, construct, test, and commission a 132kV substation in the United Arab Emirates.

The Power Transmission & Distribution Business of Larsen & Toubro has won a slew of Transmission Line orders in Bangladesh. The scope of these
packages involves Design, Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Extra High Voltage Transmission Lines on turnkey basis.

L&T Construction Awarded Contracts for its Various Businesses

The construction arm of L&T has secured orders from prestigious clients for two of its businesses.

Power Transmission & Distribution Business:

L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business has won two Transmission Line packages in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia involving Design, Procurement and Construction of 380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line Corridors for a length of more than 650 KM. These lines are expected to strengthen the grid in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia and facilitate power evacuation.

Water & Treatment Business:

The Water & Effluent Treatment business has secured an EPC order in the state of Gujarat to execute a package in the SAUNI Yojna Link 3. Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) is a project launched by the Government to fill various reservoirs by diverting floodwaters overflowing from the Sardar Sarovar Dam across the Narmada river to drought areas in Gujarat. The project involves survey, design, procurement, laying and jointing of 2500 mm diameter MS pipeline. L&T has already completed 4 packages in the Sauni Yojana for the same client.
