Sapura Drilling Awards Halliburton with Offshore Well Construction Contract

Halliburton Company has announced that Sapura Drilling, a subsidiary of Sapura Energy, has awarded it an offshore integrated contract.

Sapura, with Halliburton as its technical partner, will execute an Integrated Rig Drilling Completion (i-RDC) contract for a six well offshore well construction program. The uniquely integrated nature of the contract opens the pathway for Halliburton, in collaboration with Sapura Drilling and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd, to synergistically deploy its state-of-the-art Halliburton 4.0 digital platform to its fullest potential to achieve a step change improvement in operational efficiency.

Digital technologies will include the complete suite of Digital Well Program®, Digital Well Operations and Digital Well Automation, all DecisionSpace®365 cloud applications. Consistent with Halliburton 4.0, the scope of work also includes key digital technologies from Sperry Drilling, Cementing, Drill Bits, Baroid, and Completions product lines. The campaign is the first integrated project of its kind in country that combines rig services with all aspects of planning, operations and automation.

SAPURA ENERGY ANNOUNCES RM1.85 BILLION CONTRACT WINS, INCLUDING SAUDI ARAMCO CRPO 59

Sapura Energy Berhad (Sapura Energy), a leading global integrated oil and gas services and solutions provider, announced recent contract wins in its Engineering and Construction (E&C) and Drilling divisions, with a combined value of approximately RM1.85 billion.

The awards include the Purchase Order 59 (CRPO 59) contract from the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco), issued under a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) signed with the oil and gas producer.

CRPO 59 was awarded to Sapura Fabrication Sdn. Bhd. and Sapura Saudi Arabia Company, involving projects in the Zuluf, Ribyan and Abu Safah oil fields, offshore Saudi Arabia.

Its scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, transportation & installation and pre-commissioning of jackets for three new wellhead platforms at the three oil fields, expected to be completed by the first quarter of calendar year 2022.

SAPURA ENERGY SECURES AL-KHALIJ PIPELINE PROJECT AMONG RM611 MILLION NEW CONTRACT WINS

Sapura Energy Berhad, a leading global integrated oil and gas services and solutions provider has announced a major contract win in the Middle East.

Its subsidiary Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd – Qatar Branch was recently awarded a contract by Total E&P Golfe, to provide engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation and pre-commissioning of two sixteen-inch pipelines connecting three platforms in the Al-Khalij Field, Block 6. The Al-Khalij field is located offshore Qatar approximately 110 kilometres off the mainland coast, with average water depths of about 59 metres. The works are expected to be completed by Q2 FY2022.

The pipeline project is part of several contracts recently won by Sapura Energy’s Engineering and Construction (E&C) and Drilling divisions, with a combined value of approximately RM611 million.

The new wins demonstrate Sapura Energy’s resilience in a challenging environment, progressing the company’s strategy of leveraging on its agility and assets to expand international reach.

Sapura Energy aims to capture growing opportunities in addressable markets for oil and gas services, by deepening its presence in the fastest growing regions and industry segments.

Closer to its home base, Sapura Fabrication Sdn Bhd has won a contract from Carigali-PTTEPI Operating Company Sdn Bhd (CPOC) for the provision of engineering, procurement, construction, transportation & installation and hook-up & commissioning of Host Tie-In and Brownfield Modification Work for Additional Andalas Pipeline Project for Phase 4 Development, in the Malaysia-Thailand Joint Development Area (MTJDA).

The contract scope of work comprises engineering, procurement, onshore construction, transportation and marine spread chartering, as well as offshore hook-up and commissioning of Host Tie-In and Brownfield Modification at Jengka-A Wellhead Platform, Andalas-B Wellhead Platform, and MUDA Central Processing Platforms. The works are expected to be completed by Q3 FY2022.

Earlier this year, Sapura Energy announced that it was awarded the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and pre-commissioning of a 20-inch 29-kilometer subsea pipeline in the same project, by CPOC.

Meanwhile Sapura Energy’s drilling arm continues to gain foothold in the African continent, as Sapura Drilling Holdings Limited was awarded a contract by Total Exploration and Production Congo for the provision of its Tender Assist Drilling Rig Sapura Berani services.

The scope of the contract comprises the provision of semi tender-assist drilling rig services for three wells offshore Congo, commencing in Q4 FY2021 for a period of three months. The contract provides for an option of one well extension.

SAPURA ENERGY WINS MAJOR PROJECTS WORTH RM840 MILLION IN SOUTH AMERICA AND AFRICA

Sapura Energy Berhad, a leading global integrated oil and gas services and solutions provider, has announced two major project wins in South America, as well as a drilling contract win in the Ivory Coast.

The total value of the three contracts is RM840 million, bringing the company’s total wins to-date to RM1.6 billion, in FY2021.

The new wins demonstrate Sapura Energy’s resilience in a challenging environment, progressing the company’s strategy of leveraging on its agility and assets to expand international reach.

Sapura Energy has aimed to capture opportunities still available in addressable markets for oil and gas services, deepening its presence in the fastest growing regions like South America, Africa and Middle East.

In South America, Sapura Energy strengthened its hold as its subsidiary Sapura Energy Mexicana S.A.P.I. de C.V. secured the engineering, procurement, construction and installation scope for the Eni Mexico S. de R. L. de C.V. Amoca Project – Offshore Block Area 1 in Mexico.

The contract entails the transportation and installation of the Amoca Platform and the pipeline and subsea cable interconnecting the Amoca and Mizton platforms with the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit. The works are expected to be completed by Q4 FY2022.

Sapura Energy has completed multiple projects in Mexico, after its maiden entry in 2015.

In Brazil, Sapura Energy builds upon its longstanding relationship with Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras), as the national oil company awarded Sapura Navegação Marítima S.A. (“SNM”) twelve-months extension on the contract for the operation of pipe-laying support vessel Sapura Esmeralda.

The scope of work comprises the provision of services and charter for the installation and recovery of flexible pipes, by utilising Sapura Esmeralda in Brazilian waters. The existing contract is expected to complete by April 2021 and the twelve (12) months extension will commence immediately after the duration of the original contract of Sapura Esmeralda ends.

SNM is wholly-owned by Seabras Sapura Participações S.A., a joint venture company between Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd and a subsidiary of Seadrill Limited.

Meanwhile Sapura Energy marked its re-entry into Ivory Coast, as Foxtrot International LDC has awarded Sapura Drilling Holdings Limited a contract for the provision of its Tender Assist Drilling Rig Sapura Berani services in the country. Sapura Energy’s drilling arm provided similar services for Foxtrot International LDC’s drilling campaign in Ivory Coast in 2015 to 2016.

The contract scope comprises the provision of semi tender-assist drilling rig services for three wells, offshore Ivory Coast, commencing in Q1 FY2022. It includes the option of one well extension. With this contract, Sapura Energy will have two of its rigs operating in the African continent. Its semi-submersible tender assisted drilling rig Sapura Jaya is currently working offshore Angola.

Sapura Energy awarded a contract extension for drilling unit by Shell

Sapura Energy secured a contract extension for the provision of semi-submersible tender assist drilling unit ‘Sapura Esperanza’.

Sarawak Shell Berhad / Sabah Shell Petroleum contract entails a six well program for Malikai phase 2 drilling campaign, offshore Sabah.

Malaysian company did not disclose any financial details at this time.

In December, Sapura Energy bagged E & C and Drilling contracts worth U$ 147 million (RM 615 million).

Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn Bhd, was awarded a contract extension for the provision of its semi-submersible tender assist drilling rig, Sapura Esperanza, by Sarawak Shell Berhad / Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited.

The contract, which entails drilling six wells for Malikai phase 2 drilling campaign, offshore Sabah, will see work commencing in Q3 FY21.

Sapura Esperanza is a purpose-built semi-submersible self-erecting tender assisted drilling (TAD) rig. It was delivered in May 2013, with an enhancement of the Sapura Jaya design.

The unit is targeted harsher environment and deepwater drilling operations in combination with fixed and floating wellhead platforms such as Compliant Towers, TLPs and SPARs in up to 6,000 feet of water with pre-laid mooring.

Among the new wins is the submarine rescue service contract for the Royal Australian Navy, which is a first undertaking for the group. Sapura Energy also marked a new entry into Egypt for works in the Gulf of Suez, along with other wins across Malaysia and Indonesia.

The contract wins demonstrate Sapura Energy’s continued pursuit to deepen its presence in existing core markets, break into new markets and expand its scope of services.

The growing orderbook is expected to increase asset utilisation for the group and contribute to improving its financial performance. The group now has 10 key operating centres to execute work strategically around the globe.

Marking a new footprint in Egypt, Sapura Offshore Sdn Bhd has been awarded a subcontract by Pan Marine Petroleum Services Company. The scope of work comprises the installation of six new subsea pipelines in the Gulf of Suez for the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company, a joint venture between BP plc and Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, the National Oil Company of Egypt.

Works will be carried out in various locations in the Morgan field, with an expected total pipelay of 57 kilometres.

For its drilling segment, Sapura Drilling Asia Sdn Bhd has secured two new contracts. The first contract is from ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc for the provision of its tender assist drilling rig, Sapura T-9.

The scope comprises the provision of barge tender assisted drilling rig services for a period of three years at the Tabu field, offshore Peninsular Malaysia.

Sapura Drilling has also been awarded a contract extension by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd for the provision of semi tender assisted drilling rig, Sapura Berani (pix). The contract entails the drilling of nine wells at the Sumandak, Erb West and Dulang facilities, offshore Sabah and Peninsular Malaysia.

In Indonesia, Sapura Offshore, in a joint venture with PT Timas Suplindo, has won a contract from ENI East Sepinggan Limited, a subsidiary of multi-national oil company ENI S.p.A. The contract is for engineering, procurement, construction and installation works of two 16-inch diameter offshore rigid pipelines from the Jangkrik facility to a future manifold near Merakes drilling centres.

Works will be carried out at water depths of between 70 metres to 1,400 metres. The total length of the pipeline system is 95 kilometres.

The scope of work includes design, fabrication and offshore installation of foreseen structures, deep water pipeline end terminations and in-line tee systems for the East Sepinggan Block, East Kalimantan in Indonesia.

Undertaking its first contract for The Royal Australian Navy, Total Marine Technology Pty Ltd (TMT), a subsidiary of the group, has been awarded key roles in the submarine rescue service contract by Phoenix International (Australia) Pty Ltd.

TMT has been selected to design and fabricate a remotely operated vehicle, including to design and supply the external propulsion and non-life support-related electrical and control systems as well as the Submarine Rescue Bell.

The rescue system will be accepted into operational service in 2022 and will be one of four air transportable systems in the world.

The “primary mission” of the system is to deliver rescue capability to The Royal Australian Navy’s submarine fleet. The system will also be capable of supporting other submarine operating nations by means of the NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) standard escape hatch.
