Subsea 7 announced the award of a sizeable project by BP for the TOPR project located offshore Trinidad and Tobago, in water depths of up to 280 feet.

The project covers the installation of a 96 kilometres 12-inch pipeline, associated shore approach and diver tie-in spools. Front end engineering and design (FEED) is underway and the EPCI scope is scheduled to begin this month.

Project management and engineering will take place in Subsea 7’s office in Houston, Texas.

Subsea 7 confirms the award of a major contract by Turkish Petroleum for the Sakarya field development offshore Turkey

Subsea 7 confirmed the award of a major1 contract by Turkish Petroleum for the Sakarya field development offshore Turkey in the Black Sea. The award was announced on a redacted basis and the contract was recorded in the backlog of Subsea and Conventional in the third quarter.

The contract is awarded to Subsea 7 and Schlumberger, as part of a consortium. The integrated project scope of the engineering, procurement, construction, and installation (EPCI) contract will cover the subsurface solutions to onshore production, including completions, subsea production systems (SPS), subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) and an early production facility (EPF).

The scope of work to be executed by Subsea 7 comprises the EPCI of the subsea pipelines and associated equipment to connect the subsea wells in approximately 2000 metres water depth to the EPF. The project includes the provision and installation of infield flowlines, control umbilicals, tie-in connections, associated subsea equipment, 170 kilometres of gas export pipeline and monoethylene glycol injection pipeline to the EPF.

Project management and engineering has already commenced and will be managed from the Subsea 7 office in Istanbul, Turkey.

Subsea 7 awarded FEED contract in Norway

Subsea 7 announced the award of a contract by Aker BP for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) study for the NOA Fulla development project, offshore Norway. NOA Fulla is located in the southern part of the NOAKA area in the Norwegian North Sea. 

The awarded work is required to finalise the technical definition of the proposed development prior to Aker BP and its partners making the final investment decision (FID) late 2022. The FEED study will begin immediately.

Subsea 7 has recognised the FEED award in its order backlog in the third quarter of 2021. The value of a potential subsequent EPCI contract would only be recognised by Subsea 7 in its backlog upon FID, and would represent a substantial1 project award.

Project management and engineering will take place in our office in Stavanger, Norway. Offshore installation activities would be scheduled for 2025, 2026 and 2027.

Subsea 7 awarded contract offshore Brazil

Subsea 7 today announced the award of a very large contract by Petrobras for the development of the Mero-3 field located approximately 200 kilometres off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at 2,200 metres water depth in the pre-salt Santos basin.

The contract scope includes engineering, fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning of 80 kilometres of rigid risers and flowlines for the steel lazy wave production system, 60 kilometres of flexible service lines, 50 kilometres of umbilicals and associated infrastructure, as well as installation of FPSO mooring lines and hook-up.

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Rio de Janeiro and Paris. Fabrication of the pipelines will take place at Subsea 7’s spoolbase at Ubu in the state of Vitória and offshore operations are scheduled to be executed in 2023 and 2024, using Subsea 7’s fleet of reeled rigid pipelay vessels.

Subsea 7 today announced the award of a sizeable contract by Equinor for the Northern Lights project.  

Subsea 7’s scope includes engineering, fabrication and installation of a 100km CO2 pipeline that will run from Øygarden to the CO2 storage complex, as well as installation of umbilicals, tie-in and pre-commissioning activities.

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Stavanger, Norway. Fabrication of the pipelines will take place at Subsea 7’s spoolbase at Vigra, Norway and offshore operations will be executed in 2022 and 2023. 

The Northern Lights project is part of the Norwegian full-scale carbon capture and storage (CCS) project “Langskip” (Longship). The Northern Lights project comprises transportation, receipt and permanent storage of CO2 in a reservoir in the northern North Sea. The CO2 receiving terminal will be located in the municipality of Øygarden in Western Norway.

Subsea 7 announced the award of a substantial contract by Cabinda Gulf Oil Company Limited (CABGOC). The contract is for the Sanha Lean Gas Connection (SLGC) project comprising the construction and installation of the Lean Gas Platform (LGP) system in Block-0 offshore Angola, at a water depth of approximately 70 metres.

Project management and engineering will be performed from Subsea 7’s offices in Paris and Lisbon. Fabrication will take place at Sonamet’s yard in Lobito, Angola from 2021 to 2022, while offshore operations will occur from 2022 and 2023.

The contract scope covers the project management, engineering, procurement, installation and pull-in of one subsea rigid flowline and flexible riser together with flexible flowlines and associated subsea infrastructure and umbilical system. Offshore installation activities are scheduled for 2021.

Subsea 7 announced the award of a sizeable(1) contract for the installation of the submarine cable system on an offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.

Project engineering will commence immediately at Seaway 7’s offices in Leer, Germany and in Taipei, Taiwan. Offshore activities are expected to commence in 2023.

The contract is subject to a final investment decision by the client and Subsea 7 will record the contract in backlog once that decision has been made.

Subsea 7 announced the award of a sizeable(1) contract by Aker BP for the Hod Field Development Project, located 12 km from the Valhall area in the southern part of the North Sea.

The re-development concept includes a new Wellhead platform (Hod B) tied back to Valhall Field Centre with rigid pipelines and an umbilical.

The contract scope includes EPCI for pipelines, umbilicals and tie-ins using key vessels from Subsea 7’s modern fleet. The production pipeline is a pipe-in-pipe design and will include the world’s first application of mechanically lined pipe based on GluBi® (2) technology from BUTTING. 

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Stavanger, Norway. Fabrication of the pipelines will take place at Subsea 7’s spool base at Vigra, Norway and offshore operations will take place in 2020 and 2021.

Subsea 7 awarded contract offshore Netherlands

Subsea 7 announced the award of a substantial contract by Vattenfall for the Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) 1-4 offshore wind farm project, located between 18-36km off the Dutch coast in the North Sea.

The contracted work scope includes the transport and installation of approximately 140 wind turbine monopile foundations and 315km of 66kV inner array grid cables in water depths between 18 and 27 metres. Offshore installation is scheduled for execution in 2021 and 2022 using Seaway 7’s heavy lift, cable lay and support vessels. The contract is subject to a final investment decision by Vattenfall and Subsea 7 will include the contract in backlog once that decision has been made. 

The HKZ 1-4 offshore wind farms are being developed by Vattenfall as the first subsidy-free wind farms in the Netherlands, and when completed, will have an installed capacity of approximately 1.5 GW, which will meet the electricity needs of approximately 2-3 million Dutch households.

Subsea 7 announced the award of contracts by Chevron U.S.A Inc. for subsea installation services related to the Anchor field, located in the Green Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico. The Anchor field is approximately 140 miles off the coast of Louisiana.  

Subsea 7’s scope of work includes project management, engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the SURF components including, but not limited to, the production flowlines, risers, umbilicals, flying leads, jumpers, and associated appurtenances. 

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Houston, Texas. Fabrication of the flowlines and risers will take place at Subsea 7’s spool-base in Ingleside, Texas, with offshore operations anticipated to occur in 2022 and 2023.

Subsea 7 Integration Alliance awarded contract offshore Senegal by Woodside for the Sangomar Field Development

Subsea 7 announced the award of a very large contract by Woodside to Subsea Integration Alliance(3) for the Sangomar Field Development Phase-1 project located in the Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Offshore Deep oil blocks, offshore Senegal. This contract was initially awarded in December 2018 subject to final investment decision, which has now occurred.

The project work scope covers the engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation of the SURF system and associated subsea production systems (SPS). The development will include 23 wells, 107 km of rigid flowlines, 28 km of flexible risers and jumpers, and 45 km of umbilicals in water depths between 700 metres and 1400 metres.

Offshore activities will take place from 2021 to 2023 using Subsea 7’s reel-lay, flex-lay and light construction vessels.

The Subsea Integration Alliance team established during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) phase will now transition into the full EPIC phase based at Subsea 7 Global Projects Centre (GPC) in Sutton, UK. SURF engineering will be performed by Subsea 7 GPC centres in Sutton and Suresnes, France. A base in Senegal will support the offshore campaign and conduct site receipt testing and equipment storage.

Subsea 7 awarded EPCI contract by Aker BP for the Ærfugl Phase 2 gas field development, Norway

Subsea 7 announced the award of a sizeable contract by Aker BP for the Ærfugl Phase 2 gas field development, located approximately 210km west of Sandnessjøen in the Norwegian Sea.

This EPCI contract is a long-distance tie-back involving the application of Subsea 7’s Electrically Heat Traced Flowline (EHTF) technology for a distance of 13.5km from the subsea location to the existing Skarv infrastructure. Subsea 7 has a long-term subsea alliance agreement with Aker BP. 

Project management and engineering will commence immediately at Subsea 7’s offices in Stavanger, Norway. Fabrication of the EHTF system will take place at Subsea 7’s spoolbase at Vigra, Norway with offshore operations taking place during 2020 and 2021.

Subsea 7 awarded the contract by Woodside for the execution of Julimar-Brunello project in Australia

Subsea 7 confirmed a substantial contract award by Woodside for the execution of phase 2 of the Julimar-Brunello Project. This contract was awarded to Subsea 7 earlier this year, subject to the final investment decision of the Julimar-Brunello joint venture participants (Woodside and KUFPEC), which has now occurred.

The Julimar field is located approximately 200 km offshore North Western Australia. The full scope of work will be to design, procure, install and commission a 22 km 18” Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) gas transmission flowline and an umbilical system.

The offshore activities will be performed in 2021 using Subsea 7’s reel-lay and heavy construction vessels.
