Technip Energies Awarded a Large Petrochemical Contract by Indian Oil Corporation for a New PTA Plant

Technip Energies has been awarded a large Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for its Para Xylene (PX) and Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) complex project at Paradip, Orissa, on the East Coast of India.

This EPCC contract covers the delivery of a new 1.2 MMTPA PTA plant and associated facilities. PTA is a major raw material used to manufacture polyester fibers, PET bottles and polyester film used in packaging applications.

Paradip Refinery is the most-modern refinery in India. Its products meet the energy demands of the domestic market and are partly exported. With the aim to create a value chain, Paradip Refinery has ventured into petrochemicals with the production of Polypropylene (PP), Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG), and is now going into Para Xylene (PX) and Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) production. The availability of PTA at Paradip will provide a boost to polyester manufacturing facilities in the vicinity.

Technip Energies has a strong footprint in India and local presence in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Dahej.

Chiyoda and Joint Venture Partner Technip Energies Awarded a major LNG contract for the North Field East Project

Chiyoda Corporation (“Chiyoda”, TSE:6366 ISIN: JP3528600004) is pleased to announce that CTJV, a joint venture between Chiyoda Corporation and Technip Energies(“Technip Energies”) has been awarded a major Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (“EPC”) contract by Qatar Petroleum for the onshore facilities of the North Field East Project (“NFE”).

This award will cover the delivery of 4 mega trains, each with a capacity of 8 million tons per annum (“mtpa”) of Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”), and associated utility facilities. It will include a large CO2 Carbon Capture and Sequestration facility, leading to more than 25% reduction of Green House Gas emissions when compared to similar LNG facilities.

The new facilities will receive approximately 6 billion standard cubic feet per day of feed gas from the Eastern sector of Qatar’s North Field, which is the largest non-associated gas field in the world. The expansion project will produce approximately 33 mtpa of LNG, increasing Qatar’s production from 77 to 110 mtpa.

Chiyoda has been actively engaging in various hydrocarbon and other industrial plant projects in Qatar since the 1970s. Chiyoda has been involving in all LNG trains including NFE trains as FEED contractor and built 12 out of 14 trains of existing LNG plants in Qatar. Chiyoda has provided and completed more than 100 projects for various clients in Qatar, with Chiyoda’s local group company, Chiyoda Almana Engineering LLC. Chiyoda’s relentless contributions for sustainable development of Qatar and its proven track record in Qatar have been evaluated by Qatar Petroleum for this award.

TechnipFMC Awarded a Large Subsea Contract for ExxonMobil Payara Development

TechnipFMC has been awarded a large contract by Exxon Mobil Corporation subsidiary Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (“EEPGL”) for the subsea system for the proposed Payara project.

TechnipFMC will manufacture and deliver the subsea production system, including 41 enhanced vertical deep water trees and associated tooling, six flexible risers and ten manifolds along with associated controls and tie-in equipment.

As a continuation from Liza phase 1 and 2, this award is a tribute to the value created through this partnership and will also lead to growing further TechnipFMC’s local presence in Guyana. We continue to develop and deliver the most advanced proven subsea technologies enabling these developments with the schedule certainty required for the Payara Project first oil.”

In support of this project, TechnipFMC will continue hiring and training Guyanese engineers.

Payara is the second oil discovery in the Stabroek Block located approximately 193 km (120 miles) offshore Guyana with water depths of 1,500 m (4,900 ft) to 1,900 m (6,200 ft). ExxonMobil affiliate, Esso Exploration and Production Guyana Limited (EEPGL), is the operator.

For TechnipFMC, a “large” contract ranges between $500 million and $1 billion.
